Nehemiah 1
Nehemiah rebuilt the wall of Jerusalem. He was the “rebulider” in the Bible. He went to see the plight of the city, and realized that the wall needed to be rebuilt. We need to do the same thing in our own lives. We need to be builders.
Be a builder. What are you building. Kids know how to destroy things. When you mature, you like to build things, and fix things.
Builders see the need to build when others don’t. Nehemiah saw the need, and decided to rebuild it. We need people today that see a need, and get involved in taking care of that need. There is need all around us for building. In all areas, there are things that need to be rebuilt. Problems. Relationships. He followed God’s leading in his heart. Do you have initiative?
Builders know what a finished task can do for the cause. Nehemiah could not sit still while he knew something was sitting being a bad testimony to God. He wanted to fix it. A finished project brings glory to the one who called us to do it.
If you are going to be a builder, you will face opposition. Builders aren’t hindered by babblers. If no one is bothering you, you’re probably not building anything. Resistance always accompanies progress. If you are going to build anything, be ready for criticism. God’s leading, presence, and power help us to push on past our critics. God will prosper us.
Builders put their resources and strength into their most important project. What is it in your life that needs to be rebuilt, or built? Are we building, or are we sitting with the walls caving in around us?
BUILDING GOD’S KINGDOM DWARFS ALL OTHER PROJECTS. The most important thing we can do is win another person to Christ. Building God’s Kingdom is built on the foundation of Christ. He is the surest foundation we can ever build upon. What are you building? Does God get glory from it?
